Rob Rushe joins BNY Mellon from State Street

BNY Mellon, a global leader in investment management and investment services, announced today that Rob Rushe has joined the company as European ETF Segment Executive. He reports to Jeff McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer Exchange Traded Funds, at BNY Mellon, and is based in Dublin, Ireland.

“Rob has a wealth of ETF knowledge and was involved in developing Europe’s first ETF service model in 2000,” said McCarthy. “BNY Mellon offers a platform for asset managers to launch and help manage Exchange Traded Funds; we are confident that Rob will drive increased innovation and expansion to our platform.”

In his role as European ETF Executive, Rushe will lead and execute the long-term growth in BNY Mellon’s European ETF platform. He will play a vital role in delivering enterprise-wide ETF solutions to the marketplace to support continued regional growth of the ETF segment.

Rushe’s appointment follows BNY Mellon’s ETF re-structuring earlier this year. This included the hiring of Jeffrey McCarthy into a newly created firm-wide ETF leadership role, London-based Scott Coey to the new position of head of relationship development for ETF and structured products in Europe the Middle East and Africa, and Bob Humbert, ETF Strategy; who joined with ETF experience from both Citi and Nasdaq.

Rushe joins from State Street, where he was Managing Director and EMEA Head of Exchange Traded Fund Servicing. Prior to seven years at State Street, he spent 12 years at Bank of Ireland and Northern Trust.
