Cathay’s first half net profit falls 82 per cent as tourism, cargo yields decline

Cathay Pacific Airways’ first-half net profit declined by a larger-than-expected 82.1 per cent, as Hong Kong’s flagship carrier was hurt by fewer tourist arrivals, cut backs in corporate travel and intense competition from mainland Chinese airlines.
